Sellars and Beighton (1983) reported a seemingly 'new' syndrome of conductive deafness due to stapedial abnormalities associated with variable malformations of the external ears and facial paralysis. Three sibs and their mother, of Asiatic Indian ancestry, were affected. Surgery on the middle ear was partially effective.
