Gibson (1977) described 3 sisters with repeated pneumothoraces beginning at ages 28, 32 and 37 years. Bullae were present in otherwise normal lungs. The Marfan syndrome was excluded by the height (less than 5 ft in 2) and antitrypsin deficiency was excluded by assay.
