Faulk et al. (1970) described a mother and 2 daughters with congenital ptosis and posterior fusion of lumbosacral vertebrae. The mother's mother had ptosis and 'had never been able to place her feet flat on the floor' because of 'tightness of the heel cords.' Serum lactic dehydrogenase activity was elevated in the mother and 1 daughter studied.
