Telangiectasia Macularis Eruptive Perstans

Telangiectasia macularis eruptive perstans (TMEP) is a very rare skin disease.  Some researchers consider it a rare subtype of cutaneous mastocytosis. The lesions of TMEP typically appear as small, irregular red spots and brown widened blood vessels on the skin (telangiectasia) mostly located on the trunk, legs, and arms in a symmetrical pattern. The palms, soles and face are spared in most cases. In most cases, the lesions are not itchy and do not form blisters. Rarely, there are other symptoms in other parts of the body.  Diagnosis is usually based on the features, and confirmed by a skin biopsy. Treatment includes medication such as antihistamines and cromoglycates.
